RCE Greater Atlanta aims to spread awareness of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the adoption of them into community organizing, research, education, and business. Please see below for various resources on what the SDGs are, what they are trying to achieve, and how we can apply them in our work.
In this video (Tackling SDG 10: Reducing Inequalities in Atlanta) presenters share perspectives on the values that the RCE network brings to their work, especially around environmental justice and SDG 10.

Webinar Slides - “Funding and Strengthening Community-University Partnerships” - held August 29th, 2024
This session focused on building strong community-higher education collaborations and funding opportunities that are well-suited for those partnerships. See the slides and recording below, featuring: Chuck Barlow, Sr. (Henderson School Alumni Association and Trust), Amanda Onochie (CNP, City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District), Jay Bassett (EPA), and Ruthie Yow (SCoRE, GT) sharing stories, successes, and opportunities.

Webinar Slides - “Community-Based Evaluation and Grant Reporting” - held September 16th, 2024
The final session in the fall series discussed Community-Based Evaluation (CBE) and making grant reporting more localized and asset-based. The recording and slides include an introduction to CBE and an overview of the report, “Using Community-Based Evaluation to Assess Local Progress on the UN SDGs.” This report is meant to serve as both an argument for CBE, small data, and qualitative measurements, as well as a recommendation to RCE members for how to go about CBE and connect local work to large-scale frameworks. The webinar included small breakout groups and a discussion with panelists Grace Kim and Alicia Scott.

History of RCE Greater Atlanta
RCE Greater Atlanta was acknowledged by the United Nations University on December 18, 2017 as a Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development. In the following years, it has brought together stakeholders across the Atlanta region to have a significant local impact on the Sustainable Development Goals.
